March 2010

Dear INSHRM Members,

I hope everyone who was able to attend our February luncheon was able to walk away with some useful information about the effects of social media on the workplace.  Some of the facts and figures provided just amazed me!

Speaking of social media and the use of the internet…did you ever wonder who works on our website and keeps our technology up to date?  We have our very own Technology Chair.  As I mentioned in an earlier letter, I am using my opportunity to communicate with all of you to highlight the various positions we have on our Board of Directors.  We have a lot of people working hard behind the scenes to ensure you get the most from your membership in our group.

So what does our Technology Chair do within the role?  Well, primarily the role is responsible for ensuring our website is kept current with all of the latest happenings in our Chapter.  Additionally, the position makes certain the website has all of the most current HR news and information available to us through SHRM.  This role also works very diligently along with our membership chairs to confirm everyone’s registration for events is completed accurately through our on-line registration process.

Also, did you ever wonder who is responsible for gathering all of the information and editing our newsletters, as well as keeping you updated by providing announcements about upcoming events and important information?  Our Communications Chair! This position is responsible for providing timely and comprehensive information to chapter members about programs, workshops, and other matters of interest via chapter newsletter and emails.  Also, the Communication Chair provides timely and comprehensive information and other matters of interest about our chapter to external resources.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our March luncheon which includes a presentation about Strategic Workforce Planning.  Our Programs Co-Chairs are working on obtaining a strategic re-certification credit for this program so you will not want to miss it!

Sincerely,

Colleen Cliff, PHR
