Businesses that create flexible workplaces in this tough economy to save money and retain employees can receive national recognition: Applications are open for the 2010 Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellent in Workplace Flexibility.

Applications for the Alfred P. Sloan Awards are open to all organizations in the Greater Spokane area with a minimum of ten employees that have been in business for at least one year. Last year, eight local companies won awards for Business Excellence and Workplace Flexibility.

The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of When Work Works, a national project on workplace effectiveness and flexibility sponsored by Family and Work institute in partnership with the Institute for a Competitive Workforce, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Twiga Foundation.
Greater Spokane Incorporated, representing the Inland Northwest, is one of only thirty communities across the country offering employers the opportunity to apply for this award.
