INSHRM Certification Scholarships
Deadlines:
SPRING - 1:00 pm on April 30th. These applications will be for the 1st Exam Window: May – June.
WINTER - 1:00 pm on November 30th. These applications will be for the 2nd Exam Window: December – January.
APPLICANTS MUST MEET ALL OF THE CRITERIA LISTED BELOW:
1) Have at least two years of experience in a Human Resources related position.
2) Current INSHRM member in good standing for one year from date of application.
3) Active chapter member attending monthly INSHRM meetings (as least half of the meetings scheduled for the current year).
4) Participate in INSHRM chapter activities.

Unsigned applications will be automatically disqualified.
Applications submitted without ALL the required documentation will be automatically disqualified.
AWARD NOTIFICATION:
Scholarship award recipients will be notified after the INSHRM board meeting the following month applications are due (May and December).
INSHRM coordinates a local study group for those interested in taking the exam to achieve HR certification:
- There are 2 sessions per year (spring and fall)
- Participants are highly encouraged to have a SHRM Learning System as the study group is based around these modules. (You can purchase this system through INSHRM at a discounted price!)
- Sessions are 9 weeks long
- Informational meeting (provides you with information about the exam, various ways to prepare for the exam, what to expect, etc.
- Module 1: Strategic Management
- Module 2: Workforce Planning and Employment
- Module 3: Human Resource Development
- Module 4: Total Rewards
- Module 5: Employee and Labor Relations
- Module 6: Risk Management
- Practice Exam
- Final Exam
- Each meeting is 2 hours long. Participants come to the meeting prepared, having read and studied the material to be covered beforehand. After class discussion and answering any questions you may have from studying, participants take an exam over the material. We then provide the answers to all of the questions, as well as reasons why the other multiple choice answers were not correct!
