WHEN TO CALL YOUR EMPLOYMENT LAW ATTORNEY

(and when you don't have to)

Presenter: Kimberly Kamel, Attorney

Witherspoon, Kelley, Davenport & Toole, P.S.

** Approved for 1 Recertification Credit!  **

Date:  Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Time:  Check-In begins at 11:00 a.m., announcements/program begin at 11:30 a.m.

Location:  Red Lion River Inn, 700 N. Division, Spokane

Description: When HR is called for input on a dicey employment situation, the question crosses your mind: Should I contact legal?  Whether "legal" is your in-house counsel or an outside employment attorney, you need to know when the call is necessary and you deserve to know when it's not.  This session is a frank discussion of when it's advisable to seek legal input, and when you may not have to.

KIMBERLY A. KAMEL is a shareholder at Witherspoon, Kelley, Davenport & Toole, P.S., headquartered in Spokane with branch offices in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. Licensed in Washington and Idaho, Ms. Kamel's practice is focused on labor and employment law, in additional to veterinary malpractice litigation. Ms. Kamel received her undergraduate degree from the University of California Irvine and her law degree, cum laude, from Gonzaga University.  While at Gonzaga University, she was the Social Chair for the Gonzaga Law Review.  She also served as an extern for the United States District Court Judge Robert Whaley for the Eastern District of Washington.  Ms. Kamel sits on the executive committee for the Labor and Employment Group of the Washington State Bar Association. She sits on the board for the YMCA and heads the employment committee.  She is the past legislative chair for the Spokane Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management Association.  Ms. Kamel is also a board member of Spokanimal C.A.R.E. and  a past President of Washington Women Lawyers, Spokane's chapter.
