One of our most popular sessions of the year, the Employment Law Update will provide you with an overview of some of the most significant year-to-date HR related developments such as the new EEOC Guidance on Pregnancy Discrimination, the most recent court developments regarding intermittent FMLA leave and employer rights, the surge in meal and rest period class actions in WA, some Affirmative Action Program rule changes, and an overall review of other significant employment law developments over the past 12 months at the dederal, state and loval levels. INSHRM Fall Welcome Back!

We hope you enjoyed your summer break from INSHRM and are ready to get back into the swing of things with INSHRM! 

September kicks off our annual Legislative Law update with Keller Allen. Join us September 9th for this annual event. We look forward to having you view and register for the event on our "new" website! A big thank you to Samantha Bragg and Shannon Pottratz, who led these efforts. Thank you to our INSHRM Board of Directors for their input to ensure it was ready for our launch date!

Updates and Information


Now is the perfect time to become certified!

INSHRM offers study groups, free of charge, in preparation for the PHR/SPHR exams.  Study groups will begin in September for the December 1 – January 31 testing window.  This is your last chance to certify through HRCI and then convert (free of charge) to SHRM’s new competency-based certification model. 

INSHRM currently has 2014 Learning Systems in stock at a great discount to our membership.  Regularly, the books cost $850 + shipping for non-SHRM members.  However, through INSHRM, the cost is $495 + shipping—not a bad discount!

NHRMA Conference - Spokane 2014: Don't Miss Out!


There is still time to register for the NHRMA conference here in Spokane. If you are still considering whether to attend, here are five reasons to hit that 'register' button:

Discovering innovative products and services for your business is necessary to stay competitive in today's past-paced world. Invest time with the sponsors at the event and turn them into allies and friends.

4. Positioning Yourself as an Expert: When attending and participating in an HR conference, you can develop a reputation as an expert to your peers. Those who are engaged over the long term are often asked to speak at events and to write articles for HR publications. Like it or not, others like to associate with the experts. Clients feel good about doing business whith those who are celebrated by their peers. If your strategy is to be the best-kept secret in your business community, you will be missing a valuable opportunity.

5. Having Fun: Who says HR can't have fun? Conferences should be rewarding AND fun! Our conference will add a layer of enjoyment to your experience.
